Bloom Fabrics started 20 years ago from a desire to dress my children in sustainable & ethically produced clothes. At that time it wasn’t common to find such clothes and online shopping hardly existed. The only way I could see that I could do this economically, was to source the fabric myself & sew the clothes here at home!

Bloom fabrics does it’s best to source organic, sustainable & ethically produced fabrics from around the globe.

What that means is I buy fabrics from companies that are supportive of farmers who farm organically and regeneratively.

Farmers have intimate knowledge of place, their knowledge is what maintains a healthy soil, which builds resilience to climate change & helps rural communities thrive.

Ethically produced fabrics are respectful of workers-mainly women- paying fair wages and no forced labour.

G.O.T.S certified fabrics are the gold standard in knowing this certification covers the entire process.

I know from running a certified organic farm, that the process of being certified can be expensive and intensive for the small scale textile producer. I feel it is important to support these people as well.

I stock natural fibres - linen (flax), hemp, cotton, wool and bamboo.

Home sewing and creating can have a profound impact on our well-being.
